When Tom Gaglardi acquired the Texas Stars last year, it was expected that a few things would change to bring the AHL team more in alignment with its NHL brethren in Dallas. The first major sign of this was when Texas changed its logo and color scheme, adopting the beautiful Victory Green that we've come to know and love. That meant that a sweater change was sure to follow, and this season will finally see that accomplished. The Stars have announced that their new sweaters will be revealed on Friday, September 18th during Stars Party at the Domain.
After all, what better way to make a fun Stars announcement than at an outdoor party hosted by Razor and Dave Strader? I seem to remember good things happening the last time those two took the stage, after all. Let me refresh your memory:
And speaking of current Stars players, you will see the hipness of Jamie Benn and John Klingberg at this event, along with the wonderful hockey smile of one Julius Honka (Honka smile?). Travis Morin will be there as well, and while I have no source for making this assumption, I wouldn't be shocked to see Morin's shiny new jersey sporting a "C" on it.
As if that weren't enough to whet your appetite for Stars hockey, Jim Nill will also be among those in attendance for a Q&A session. So, make sure you show up early to find out if the Dallas GM prefers Texas or Kansas City barbecue, if Razor considers himself the team's emergency goalie, and whether a cheese-covered hot dog injected with peanut butter and marinated in liquidated sloth fur is actually a sandwich.
Here's the official release:
