Fortunately, the jersey snafu in warm-ups was sorted out by puck drop. And, as it turns out, Niemi didn't even notice the error.
Niemi said he wasn't aware until warm-ups were over and he changed into a different jersey. "I'm sure it was funny," he said. "I got a few messages during the game."
Speaking of errors... Stars captain Jamie Benn owned up to making a poor decision by taking a penalty in the third period.
"It was a stupid penalty at a pretty important time of the game," said Benn. "Absolutely nothing was going on. Then a bad penalty, and they score, and the building was rocking."
Coach Lindy Ruff also sounded off on the game.
