A quick note before starting the main body of the prospect update. The upcoming week will feature all of the WHL, OHL and QMJHL trade deadlines. One Dallas Stars prospect has already been traded and others could soon be on the move.

North American Juniors And NCAA

OHL

In three games with the Belleville Bulls, Remi Elie scored two goals. In a 2-0 win against the Kingston Frontenacs he scored the empty netter to make it 2-0 with just over half a minute to go. Highlights of the game can be found here.

On Saturday he scored another goal, his 14th of the season, during a 6-2 defeat at the hands of the Peterborough Petes. His goal tied up the game at 2-2 at the end of the first period. It would only take 51 seconds into the second period for the Petes to take the lead again. Highlights of the game can be found here.

On Monday morning he was traded from the Belleville Bulls to the Erie Otters with another forward in return for two players and six picks.

With Robby Fabbri at the World Junior Championship Jason Dickinson has moved up the lineup into the top line centre position. The change is showing as his points total have increased to just over a point per game, six points in the last five games.

This week he had five of those points. He scored a goal and an assist on the Guelph Storm's New Years Eve game during a 4-3 loss to the Erie Otters. He played a hand in the last two of the Storm's goals as they fought to get back into the game late in the third.

On Friday he'd add an assist during a 4-3SO win against the Owen Sound Attack. It would come on the powerplay. He'd miss his chance to end the game in the shootout as he missed his fourth round attempt. Highlights of the game can be found here.

They'd play Owen Sound back to back, however the Storm took that game 4-1. Dickinson would score an unassisted powerplay goal with just over five minutes left in the first period and would later assist on the empty net goal. Highlights of the game can be found here.

After a hot December where Aaron Haydon had nine points in ten games, he's not been able to repeat that success through two games so far in 2015. In the three games he played this week he finished pointless in all of them.

Brent Moran has had a difficult time of late getting starts and his save percentage has fluctuated. He only got the one start this week, the first since December 18th. He was pulled after two periods after allowing four goals on 20 shots, a 0.800SVS%. The IceDogs would win the game 6-5 in the shootout. Highlights of the game can be found here.

Alex Peters is still out recovering from injury.

Patrick Sanvido played four games this week and finished with a single assist, his seventh of the year. He'd get the assist on the overtime winner against Mississauga on Sunday in a 5-4win.

WHL

Brett Pollock had a good week with the Edmonton Oil Kings, scoring three goals and adding an assist to his totals. He'd have a point in each of the three games he played this week.

He'd score an empty net goal on Wednesday as the Oil Kings beat the Swift Current Broncos 4-1. The Oil Kings had badly outshot the Broncos 59-18 over the course of the game. Highlights of the game can be found here.

He'd add another goal during a 3-2 win against Lethbridge on Friday. He scored the eventual game winner 15 minutes into the third period. He also amassed 16 minutes in penalty minutes, including a 10 minute misconduct with less than two minutes left in the game. Highlights of the game can be found here.

Pollock would add another goal and an assist in a 3-1 win over the Kootenay Ice on Saturday. He scored a powerplay goal just over half way through the first period and would have the only assist on the empty net goal. He'd be named second star of the game for his efforts. Highlights of the game can be found here.

Cole Ully played three games with the Blazers this week and finished with four points. His 53 points through 39 games puts him fifth in the WHL scoring race behind a pair of Medicine Hat Tigers and a pair of Kelowna Rockets.

He had a pair of assists during a 6-3 defeat to the Vancouver Giants on Tuesday. He had the primary assist on Ryan Rehill's opening goal and would assist on a powerplay goal late in the second. Highlights of the game can be found here.

Ully's goal during a 6-4 loss to Kelowna would be the opening goal of the game and his 18th of the season. Highlights of the game can be found here. It sounds like an odd one with six of the 10 goals scored being powerplay goals with one shorthanded goal.

Meeting the Vancouver Giants for the second time this week, Ully would add another assist to his total in a 3-2SO win. He'd have the primary assist on the opening goal but would go on to miss his shootout attempt. Highlights of the game can be found here.

QMJHL

Philippe Desrosiers has had a good week in the QMJHL playing three games in one week. He'd get a shutout against Victoriaville in a 1-0 win. He saved all 29 shots and was named second star of the game.

In a 3-2OT loss to Quebec Remparts he saved 31 shots of the 34 that he faced; a 0.912SVS%. He was named third star of the game for his effort. In another overtime game, this one a win against the Baie-Comeau Drakkar, Desrosiers saved 30 of the 33 shots he faced, a 0.909SVS%. Over the three games he finished with a 0.940SVS%.

It's good to see Desrosiers play this number of games and perform well in them. He's had a very up and down year in what will be his last year in the QMJHL. The Oceanic are still top of their division and could go far into the playoffs. After that he'll be Texas Stars bound.

USHL

Matej Paulovic was on World Junior Championship duty and did not play this week. His team, Slovakia, were beaten in the semi finals by Canada and will face Sweden in the battle for Bronze.

NCAA

Devin Shore played two games this week with the University of Maine, both games were wins against Canisius. He'd score the empty net goal on Friday in a 4-1 win and would add two assists in a 3-1 win on Saturday. He now has 14 points through 20 games.

Mike Prapavessis played two games with the RPI Engineers this week, playing on their second defensive unit. He finished the week with a single assist during a 3-2 loss to Miami (Ohio) on Friday. The assist was his fourth point of the year.

Europe

Sweden

Ludwig Bystrom played two games this week with Farjestad and he registered a single assist. He had the primary assist on Farjestad's first goal during a 4-2 defeat to Leksand on Tuesday. However he only averaged around 11 minutes on ice in both games and was the seventh defenseman in the lineup.

It is a frustrating season for Bystrom as he fails to get the ice time required to develop. He's been unplayed, moved up and down the lineup and loaned. He's had very little stablity in the lineup and whether thats due to his play or coaching staff I don't know. He'll join the Texas Stars when the season is over, welcome reinforcements for a team that has been depleted with moves on the blueline in Dallas.

Niklas Hansson had a good week with four assists through two games for Rogle. He assisted on a pair of goals during a 4-0 win against Sodertaije on Monday. He only played 13 minutes in the game. Emil Molin finished pointless and played nine minutes in the game. Hansson would have another pair of assists in a 4-1 win against IK Oskarshamn on Saturday. He'd play 17 minutes while Molin would only play nine minutes.

Finland

Esa Lindell would have a pair of goals for Assat this week and averaged 25 minutes of ice time. He'd score the game winning goal in overtime on Tuesday. He'd open the scoring on Friday and was named first star of the game during a 3-2 loss to the Blues.

Aleksi Makela is on international duty at the World Junior Championship and did not play in the Liiga.

Miro Karjalainen has not played this week.

Russia

Dmitry Sinitsyn is still out injured and has not played in the KHL this week.
