Gameday Thread: Dallas Stars at Carolina Hurricanes

New, comments

The Stars try to tighten their grip on the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference as they continue an east coast road swing.

Shellacking the Washington Capitals as a great way for the Dallas Stars to start their critical four-game road swing to the east coast, but at the end of the day, that game is still worth just two points.

The Stars will try and add two more and widen their lead over the Phoenix Coyotes for the eighth and final Western Conference playoff berth tonight as they play at the home of the Carolina Hurricanes, who are coming off a nice win of their own over the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Dallas' lineup will be the same tonight, from rookie Patrik Nemeth staying on the blueline to Kari Lehtonen starting in goal. Things are rolling for the minute, and with Erik Cole not quite ready to inject a little more skill into the forward corps yet, there's no real reason to change anything up.

Buckle your seatbelts and keep all your arms and legs inside the vehicle. If history has taught us anything, it's not to expect a smooth ride.
