NHL Trade Rumors: Anaheim Ducks Interested In Dallas Stars Defenseman Stephane Robidas

Could the veteran blueliner be headed to Anaheim?

Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

It's that time of year again, where endless speculation and rumors leads to actual rumors connected to players and teams and it becomes almost impossible to separate fact from fiction until an official trade is made or -- more often than not -- not made at all.

We may have such a situation, with rumors swirling that Dallas Stars defenseman Stephane Robidas could be headed to the Anaheim Ducks. Here's what's happened so far.

It all started with this:

Which caught my eye, since Turco is tuned into the Stars pretty significantly and doesn't just spout off with random trade rumors on Twitter. That was quickly followed up with:

When the Great Bob McKenzie gets involved, ears start to perk up. The trick, though, is that he hasn't confirmed anything from his own sources and could just be commenting on the speculation. Then you get this, from Ducks beat writer Eric Stephens.

Robidas is a pending UFA who is currently rehabbing from a broken leg, but would be a big boost for any team with playoff hopes and aspirations. One such team, as noted by Dave Lozo, is the Dallas Stars:

Even with Robidas a pending UFA, the return would have to be significant to trade him away. He would undoubtedly be a boost for the Stars blue line, a team that has a very legitimate shot at the playoffs and while losing him for nothing would hurt -- so would trading him away just for a mid-round pick.

There's all sorts of action happening with the Ducks this morning, we'll update as soon as more is known.
