Remi Elie and Jason Dickinson both were out of action this week as they attended a training camp for Team Canada. Remi Elie was the last cut to be announced on Sunday afternoon; Jason Dickinson is still on the roster with two forwards still to be cut.

Aaron Haydon played three games this week for the Niagara IceDogs and finished with two goals and an assist. He had a goal and an assist in a 7-4 win against the Peterborough Petes. His goal was the game winner and he had a primary assist on a powerplay goal less than five minutes into the first period. Highlights of the game can be found here.

Haydon would add another goal, another game winner, in the IceDogs 5-3 win against the Oshawa General on Friday. He'd score 15 minutes into the third period. He was named first star of the game for his effort. He also had a five minute major for fighting. Highlights of the game can be found here.

Brent Moran played two games for the Niagara IceDogs this week. He was put in as relief 11 minutes into the 7-4 win on Thursday. He played 48 minutes and saved all 16 shots he faced for a 1.000SVS%. His arrival into the game and performance seems to have steadied a team that had let in four goals in four minutes.

He started the game against Oshawa and backstopped them to a 5-3 win. He let in 3 goals on 36 shots, a 0.917SVS%. Hopefully this is a sign that the IceDogs are beginning to put it back together.

Patrick Sanvido played three games with the Windsor Spitfires and finished pointless through all three of them. Windsor lost two of the three games that they played.

WHL

Brett Pollock only played two games this week with the Edmonton Oil Kings. He finished with a single point, an assist, in a 4-1 win against the Kamloops Blazers.

Cole Ully played four games with the Kamloops Blazers and had four points in those games. He now has 11 points in seven games in December and 46 points so far this season.

He had a goal in a 6-2 loss to the Red Deer Rebels on Thursday. Highlights of the game can be found here. Ully followed this performance up with a goal and an assist in a 5-3 loss to the Calgary Hitmen. He was named third star of the game. Highlights of the game can be found here. He would add another goal, to make it 16 goals on the season, in a 4-2 win against Lethbridge on Sunday.

Ully is currently sixth in points scored in the WHL.

QMJHL

Philippe Desrosiers started one game and came in relief in another game in the QMJHL this week. He backstopped Rimouski to a 6-3 win against Gatineau, letting in three goals on 33 shots that he faced. That is 0.909SVS%.

He would play 17 minutes in relief in what finished a 5-2 loss to Charlottetown on Sunday. He faced seven shots in that time but saved them all.

USHL

Matej Paulovic has really turned on the offense in the past few weeks. He has 11 points in his last four games, including five games that he played this week. He had three assists in a 5-2 win against Sioux Falls on Friday and followed this up with two assists in a 7-3 loss on Saturday, again against Sioux Falls. He would also have 24 penalty minutes in that game, with two separate unsportsmanlike conduct misconduct penalties.

His 27 points in 25 games puts him tied fifth for the USHL scoring title. He was also named part of Slovakia's WJC roster this week as well.

NCAA

It seems that Devin Shore found something extra this weekend. He had four assists through two games for Maine. He had three assists in a 5-2 win against New Hampshire on Friday. Shore would have another assist on Saturday but it wouldn't be enough to stop them falling 7-4.

Mike Prapavessis and RPI faced powerhouses Boston University on Saturday and lost 5-1. Prapavessis finished pointless but was also demoted from the first defensive pairing to the third defensive pairing.

Europe

Sweden

Ludwig Bystrom played only one game this week. He only played eight minutes in a 4-2 win against HV71. I believe he was injured during the game and this was why he played limited minutes and was held out of their second game of the week. I haven't been able to find anything that confirms this however.

Niklas Hansson and Emil Molin both played two games this week. Hansson would finish with a single assist while Molin would go pointless. They both went pointless in a 5-4 loss to BIK Karlskoga on Tuesday and both only played eight minutes of ice time. This represents a significant drop for Hansson.

Hansson would get an assist during a 5-2 win against AIK and played 18 minutes. Why there was a drop the previous game I'm not sure but it appears to have been limited to that one game.

John Nyberg played two games this week as the J20 SuperElit finished the first part of its season. He would score during Frolunda J20s 3-1 loss to HV71 J20 on Saturday.

From now on Frolunda J20 will play the other four teams in its division that finished in the bottom five and the bottom five of the other J20 division. They will play twice and the top six teams of that group will advance to the playoffs.

Finland

Esa Lindell played two games this week for Assat and had an assist in each of those games. He assisted on the game winning goal in a 2-1 win against the Blues and was named second star of the game. He'd have another assist in Assat's 3-2 loss to KalPa. Lindell would average about 27 minutes of ice time in each of those games. He averages the most time on ice per game in the entire Liiga, nine seconds more than second.

Lindell was also named to Finland's Euro Hockey Tour roster. They will be playing in Sochi in a tournament that starts on Thursday this week. If he continues this performance he will solidify his position as a favourite to play for Finland at the World Championship.

Aleksi Makela played two games this week and finished pointless in both of the games. He averaged 15 minutes on ice in each of those games.

Miro Karjalainen did not play in any of the HIFK J20's games this week.

Russia

Dmitry Sinitsyn has not played in the KHL this week. He hasn't appeared in any of the other leagues in Russia either. I think he is probably out injured at the moment which is why he didn't play.
