Dallas Stars Release 2014-15 Preseason Schedule

The Dallas Stars have released their preseason schedule this morning, with the full schedule expected to come out sometime next week. This year’s preseason will be six games, three home and three away, with the road games coming in Florida against the Lightning and Panthers and then on ‘neutral’ ice in Kansas City against the Blues.

The Stars will open the preseason at home on Sept. 22 against the Blues, and then finish up the preseason with back-to-back home games against the Panthers and Lightning on Sept. 29 and 30. If you look closely, you’ll notice that means the Stars will play four games in five days and six games in just eight days in a rather intense preseason schedule.

This should prove to be a very competitive training camp and preseason, with several young Stars prospects fighting for the chance to earn a spot in the NHL. This preseason will provide the Stars a good chance to get every player plenty of ice time, and given the schedule I won’t expect to see the full NHL roster on the ice at once until the first game of the season.

The press release:

FRISCO, Texas – The Dallas Stars announced today the club’s preseason schedule for the 2014-15 campaign, featuring just three different opponents. The Stars will play a total of six preseason contests, with three games at American Airlines Center and three on the road, including one neutral site game in Kansas City.

The Stars will open their 2014-15 preseason schedule at American Airlines Center against the St. Louis Blues on Sept. 22. The two clubs will also play a neutral site game in Kansas City on Sept. 27 at Sprint Center.
