2014 NHL Entry Draft

The first round of the NHL Draft is set to begin in just a few hours, with intrigue over possible trades and blockbuster moves heating up with every minute. The Vancouver Canucks have already been the big movers on the day, trading away Ryan Kesler and Jason Garrison while the No. 1 overall pick is still said to be up for grabs.
Tonight will just have the first round, with the remainder of the draft to be held on Saturday. The Stars have the No. 14 pick, just like in 2011, and there's no telling what they're planning on doing at that point in the draft -- and of course it will likely depend on who goes where ahead of them in the draft.
The trade intrigue around this draft is higher than most years and it seems, especially with the cap only going to $69 million, that some actual activity should be expected tonight and in the hours leading up to the draft.
