While the Stars' prospects labor in Traverse City the veterans went about the job of reinforcing the team's bond with its hardcore fan base at the Galleria Saturday morning, energizing all involved .for the upcoming season.
We've been saying this a lot lately, but the team's new look was front and center again today, giving thousands their first in-person look at the new home sweaters. Here's a sampling of photos from the day's festivities:
Rich Peverley looked quite diminutive this morning as he walked to his table. Probably because he was standing next to the always imposing Brenden Dillon.
These people were toward the back of a line (this wasn't even the back) that stretched the length of a couple of football fields. They waited.
And they waited. (We see you, guy with the weird black/white 99 "Stanley" jersey. And... no)
...To talk to Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin (and Cole and Garbutt)
I once waited in the same line many years ago to speak with Brenden Morrow and Mike Modano. Jamie Benn, sporting minimal "flow" to begin the year, takes up the mantle. Will he soon showcase an addition to that Victory Green jersey?
Meanwhile, brother Jordie sports his new #24, extra flow.
The goaltenders sat together and were mobbed. #danellisproblems
The Ginger Ninja and Alex Goligoski shared a station.
And Sergei Gonchar appeared to be wondering what all of these damned kids were doing on his lawn. You know. Because he's old. Do you get it?
