Dallas Stars Daily Links: Trevor Daley Returns to Practice, Video of Ryan Garbutt Hit

A fan made YouTube video of the Stars' final preseason outing caught the Garbutt hit, so briefly, on video...

There are a number of intriguing items to be seen out there on them internets this morning, and we'll start in Frisco where the Dallas Stars return to practice in a single, slimmed down group in preparation for Thursday night's season opener to find a good injury update...

Mike Heika has reported Daley's injury to be shoulder related. "Soft tissue" is what he said. Ruff nebulously pointed to his own shoulder area in reference to Daley one day last week.

If it was a subluxation or partial dislocation it could be a fluid situation moving forward. Perhaps it was a contusion. It looks like lips might be tighter on injuries under the new regime in Frisco, so we'll just wait and see. He is practicing as the seventh defenseman, rotating in and out.

Then there's this little nugget I found while doing some Googling. I was going to share this is as "a cool fan-made video of the final preseason game," which it is. Then at about the 1:36 mark I saw the Garbutt hit that caused his ejection from the game on Thursday.

"I came off the bench, took a few strides and saw the guy coming at me and we just sort of collided at center ice," Garbutt told Mike Heika on Friday. "I think it might have been a little late, but it was definitely accidental. I was trying to get out of the way."

It's hard to refute or support what he's saying there, but it is interesting to see it after there were no replays offered in the arena. The puck was certainly nowhere around.

A couple of links as I try to compete for attention today with a do-or-die Texas Rangers game, a Dallas Cowboys game, a full NFL schedule, and the finale of Breaking Bad....
