Video: Dallas Stars' Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin Throw First Pitch at Texas Rangers Game

New, comments

They're a double threat with a lefty and a righty on the mound at the same time.

Jamie Benn brought his two newest and best friends (Tyler Seguin and that 'C') to Rangers Ballpark in Arlington last night to throw out the ceremonial first pitch before Texas tried desperately to extend their thin playoff hopes against the hapless Houston Astros.

Jordie Benn, Vernon Fiddler and Brenden Dillon tagged along and took some batting practice in the afternoon. Video courtesy of the Stars...

It's good to see the new jerseys and the team's new leadership out and about, no doubt spreading word about opening night against the Florida Panthers one week from today. Jamie Benn may carry a heavy burden of responsibility until this team gets back into the playoffs but there are certainly fun perks that go along with it.

The last time (that I recall..) the Stars had someone throw out a first pitch was Jonas Gustavsson in June of 2009. Right before he picked the Toronto Maple Leafs, thank goodness.
