The Dallas Stars announced Saturday afternoon that they're trimmed their training camp roster by 10, giving them 13 defensemen and 23 forwards remaining.
Ryan Button, Hubert Labrie, Curtis McKenzie and Taylor Peters have been reassigned to the Texas Stars, and it appears as though Francis Wathier will join them should he get through waivers. Also joining the Texas Stars will be Justin Dowling and Mike Hedden, each releases from camp tryout contracts.
Etienne Boutet, Brock Montgomery and Brendan Ranford were also released from amateur tryouts.
C Radek Faksa, who had a strong showing against the Panthers last night, has been sent back to what should be his final year of hockey with the Kitchener Rangers of the OHL.
It should be noted as he departs that Curtis McKenzie also turned some heads at times during camp and the Traverse City tournament. He'll be a valuable addition in his first full year as a pro with Texas.
