Dallas Stars Prospect Update: European Leagues, QMJHL Seasons Start

How have the Dallas Stars prospects done in this past week of hockey? Defending Big D is committed to to giving you weekly updates as their seasons progress.

Jamie Sabau

This past week has seen the beginning of the regular season in Europe and in the QMJHL. Next week the majority of Stars prospects will play as the rest of the Canadian Hockey Leagues start.

Theres only been one Stars prospect who has been playing in the QMJHL so far, Maxime Lagace. He has had both the starts for the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles, both losses. He has however averaged a .909 SVS% over those two games.

Both Troy Vance and Philippe Desrosiers have been at the Dallas Stars training camp and therefore have not played for their teams.

Its been a mixed week for Dallas Stars prospects in Europe. Ludwig Bystrom has played a single game for Farjestad and finished pointless with +1 rating. He played over 18 minutes on their second defensive pairing.

Niklas Hansson played two games for Rogle in the Allsvenska. He's gone pointless throughout those two games playing on their third defensive pairing.

Emil Molin was a healthy scratch for Brynas and did not play in their opening game of the season.

John Klingberg was in Fort Worth for training camp which meant that he was not in the lineup for Frolunda. He has however been made one of their alternative captains and will therefore wear the A after he gets back to Sweden.

Esa Lindell has been loaned to Kiekko-Vantaa of the Mestis. They are currently updating their website which means that finding information on how he has done is slightly tricky for now. Aleksi Makela is playing in the Jr A SM-Liiga which is nearly impossible to find stats on. If anyone has a website which is regularly updated it would be much appreciated.

Henri Kiviaho has been the backup for KalPa's two games so far. He hasn't been on the ice yet but is second on KalPa's depth chart.
