Today is the day. Months of anticipation, speculation and endless prognosticating have led up to this moment, when the Dallas Stars finally make their first round selection in the 2013 NHL Draft. Perhaps a bit of a dramatic introduction, but there's a good reason the draft junkies are especially excited for this year's draft over those previously.
The Dallas Stars made quite a splash with their initial first-round pick, taking highly-touted Russian forward Valeri Nichushkin with the No. 10 pick. They were helped along by the Vancouver Canucks, who traded goalie Cory Schneider to the New Jersey Devils for the No. 9 pick and then proceeded to take Bo Horvat with that pick.
Earlier in the round, Nathan MacKinnon went first overall to the Colorado Avalanche, and Seth Jones went at No. 4 to the Nashville Predators.
The Stars are gearing up for the No. 29 pick, and we still have six rounds to go.
Please us this thread as the main discussion forum during the draft - you crazy people have already filled up our first and second one.
