Today is the day. Months of anticipation, speculation and endless prognosticating have led up to this moment, when the Dallas Stars finally make their first round selection in the 2013 NHL Draft. Perhaps a bit of a dramatic introduction, but there's a good reason the draft junkies are especially excited for this year's draft over those previously.
Nathan MacKinnon went first overall to the Colorado Avalanche, Seth Jones dropped to fourth and went to the Nashville Predators, and the Stars haven't made a move yet as they look set to take a player with the No. 10 overall pick.
There haven't been any trades involving draft picks yet, but there's still been plenty to talk about early in the first round. And as a bonus, the Minnesota Wild sent Cal Clutterbuck to the New York Islanders for Nino Niederreiter.
Please us this thread as the main discussion forum during the draft - you crazy people have already filled up our first one.
