The Dallas Stars have signed 2009 sixth round draft pick, 159th overall, Curtis McKenzie to a two year entry level deal which begins at the beginning of the 2013-2014 season. He is currently playing with the Dallas Stars AHL affiliate, the Texas Stars, on an Amateur Tryout Contract.
Curtis McKenzie has spent the past four years playing for Miami University in the CCHA. He has a total of 80 points through 159 NCAA games.
The 6"2 205 pound left wing is a big body who will help fill some gaps down in Austin. The Texas Stars may be light of left wings next season, especially with the possibility of both Matt Fraser and fellow former Miami Redhawk Reilly Smith having full time places in Dallas next season.
Curtis McKenzie has played in a single game for the Texas Stars this season and has yet to earn his first professional point.
