Dallas Stars' Erik Cole, Vernon Fiddler Among Team's Best Mustaches For Movember

New, comments

We check in on the progress of Movember as well as a save-the-date announcement!

Jared Wickerham

This year, I'm committed to keeping up with various initiatives that the Dallas Stars Foundation has underway. The charity and community involvement side of the Dallas Stars hockey club has been very under the radar for most fans. They are involved in a lot of really neat things so this regular update on the Foundation's various initiatives will bring you information on ways you can help, ways to win autographed items, even ticket specials that serve a dual purpose -- get you to a game and help a charity out.

Dallas Stars' Movember Update

How is the mustache contest heating up on the team? Well here's what I do know....

Best 70's cop 'stache - Erik Cole
Can grow a surprisingly good one (when I didn't expect him to) - Ryan Garbutt
Mustache that must resembles a high schoolers - Brenden Dillon
Frenchiest mustache - Anotine Roussel
Manly-man mustache - Vernon Fiddler
Best mustache/beard combo - Alex Goligoski

Don't forget to make a donation to the Stars' Movember team members here. Anyone who donates is automatically entered in weekly drawings for autographed memorabilia. Donate $200 or more and you get to join the Stars players at an exclusive end of Movember Shave Off party on November 30th at the Boardroom Salon for Men in Dallas. They'll get freshly-shaven and be available for pictures and autographs with fans at the event. [Caveat: if the Stars continue to win, they sooooo are not allowed to shave off the mustaches, am I right?]

Also! You can get a great deal on tickets for tomorrow night's game versus the New York Rangers while also giving to a great cause by going to and using promo code: dallasmo. Tickets are $60 plaza and $20 terrace, and $5/$10, respectively, is donated to the Movember charity.

Casino Night Is Coming Up!

The Dallas Stars annual Casino Night is back this season! Mark your calendars for January 28th to join the team in raising money for the Dallas Stars Foundation. It's a really neat event where various coaches and players mix and mingle with fans and play casino games (craps, roulette, blackjack are some of the favorites.) They even guest deal at tables. It's a fun way to interact with the players and get all dolled up for a fancy night out. More details will be released by the Dallas Stars so keep an eye out!

Poster Series

The Stars Foundation decided to try something different this year. Feedback they had heard is that people aren't using calendars as much, and that many people enjoyed the pictures within the calendar but had no way to save those they liked (unless you really just want to have an outdated calendar hanging around.) The posters will be released through March. Now, I couldn't get the scoop on who may be the next poster release, but word is the ladies will love the one released around Valentine's Day!
