Gameday Thread: Colorado Avalanche @ Dallas Stars

The second meeting of the season between the two old rivals features the first visit of Patrick Roy to Dallas since his days as a player.

The Dallas Stars bounce home for one game tonight before heading back out east next week as they play host to the Colorado Avalanche at the American Airlines Center at 7:30 p.m.

It's the second meeting of the season between the two teams after Colorado held on for a 3-2 win in Denver early in October. In fact, the Avs are still the hottest team in the NHL under new coach and long-time Stars nemesis Patrick Roy at 10-1-0. I'm sure there will be plenty of Roy's old triumphs on the video board tonight (this is one of my personal favorites).

Here were the lines from the Stars morning skate, which featured one quasi-notable change on the third line:

Benn - Seguin - Cole

Whitney - Eakin - Chiasson

Nichushkin - Peverley - Horcoff

MacDermid - Fiddler - Roussel

Yes, that's Rich Peverley sliding over to center while Shawn Horcoff will start on right wing. We know from watching the first line play that Lindy Ruff is not married to having one player be the designated center on any given line (when Peverley was playing up with Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin, all three would rotate through the center responsibilities at points), but it is an interesting switch.
