With the No. 13 pick of the 2012 NHL Draft, the Dallas Stars select Radek Faksa, a center from the Kitchener Rangers of the Ontario Hockey League.

A native of Vitkov, Czech Republic, Faksa is ranked seventh among North American skaters by NHL Central Scouting, and No. 11 overall by TSN. He led all OHL rookies in goals (29), assists (37) and points (66) during the 2011-12 season. He also led the league's first-year players in game-winning goals (6) and plus-minus (+19). He was selected to play for the Czech Republic's 2012 World Junior Championship team. He scored two goals in six games, as his Czech team made it's way to a fifth place finish in Alberta. He also represented the Czech Republic at the 2011 Under-18 World Championship.

He played junior hockey in the Czech Republic with Trinec on both their junior and under-18 teams from 2007 until 2011, before traveling across the pond to play for Kitchener.
