The Dallas Stars announced their 2012-2013 Preseason schedule this afternoon. The full NHL schedule is due out next week (probably Wednesday).
The Stars will play eight preseason contests this season (providing a timely end to the CBA negotiations), including just three at American Airlines Center this time. Dallas is scheduled to begin training camp in Boise, ID, and will play the first of a "home and home" with the Wild there at the home of the Steelheads on Tuesday, September 25th.
If you're not going to Idaho then your first chance to see them comes, not at the AAC, but in San Antonio when they take on the Florida Panthers there Friday, September 28th. The Stars will finally return home to open play in front of their home crowd the next day on the 29th against those same Florida Panthers.
The usual suspects (Avalanche and Blues) round out the schedule as being the opponents with the shortest flight to and from.
You'll notice that start times for the three home games are 7:00pm CST, and this is something the Stars plan to do throughout the season, moving it back from the usual 7:30pm starts of the last many years. This is to accommodate the requests of families, who wish to get home earlier on the weeknights. Saturday games already started at 7:00pm traditionally.
