Tomorrow, September 24, at 6 p.m. ET, NHL Network will air a special tribute to the life and career of the NHL's most prolific American-born player titled "Mike Modano: American Icon." It depicts Modano's emergence as the face of a franchise and chronicles his evolution as a player -- from childhood through becoming the first overall draft pick in 1988 by Minnesota to the Stars' relocation in 1993 through his final game in a Dallas Stars uniform in 2010. Family, friends and former teammates share their thoughts about Modano, his contribution to the game and how he'll be remembered.
We'll use this post as a kind of gameday thread for the press conference if you want to talk about it live or afterward, though, I don't know how some of you will be able to textualize your weeping, sobbing and swooning.
