Dallas Stars' Nicklas Grossman Back in; Fistric Tonight's Scratch

Apart from what I'm sure are innumerable bumps, bruises and ailments affecting the Dallas Stars these days (Adam Burish, anyone?) it can now be said that the Stars are officially "healthy" heading into tonight's game against the Minnesota Wild.

Nicklas Grossman will return to the lineup after missing eleven games with a hip injury suffered at home against Columbus on February 13th, the same day Brad Richards suffered his concussion.

We had been expecting that. The bigger news was perhaps that Mark Fistric, who has been an impressive physical force lately out there, will be the scratch tonight. That got the blood of all the fan boys pumping.

Grossman traditionally plays with Stephane Robidas but since his injury Alex Goligoski has been acquired and paired with Robi. Given the success of that duo, Grossman will likely find himself with a new partner, and that's where the Fistric decision might come from.

Putting Grossman with Skrastins keeps continuity with Robidas/Goligoski and Daley/Woywitka and allows him to ease back into things because the Skrastins/Fistric pairing has probably seen the least amount of even strength ice time.

Still, a popular opinion amongst fans has been that Karlis Skrastins looks like maybe he could use a rest or two, or that Jeff Woywitka's effectiveness has been curtailed of late. Luckily we fans don't coach the team. We'll see what this group of six can do tonight against a desperate Wild bunch.
