We here at Defending Big D would like to wish all Dallas Stars fans a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! While not everyone celebrates the holiday, the general idea of "peace on earth" and "goodwill to men" are ideas that most people celebrate this time of year.
In this holiday season, we'd like to take a moment to say a big "THANK YOU!" to all the men and women serving in the military overseas that cannot be with their families. We also hope all service men and women will be reunited with their families speedily and safely.
Now, I'm sure everyone has gone through the opening of the presents and we hope that you were gifted with some awesome Stars swag. Tell us what you got in the comments (or even post a picture of what you got!) The picture here is from the Nicklas Grossman tree I won at the Stars game on Friday night. The Dallas Stars foundation had trees that were decorated by the guys on the team (and even the general manager himself Joe Nieuwendyk got in on the fun!) For a charitable donation for a raffle ticket, you could put a ticket in any tree that you wanted. I won Grossman's, and not only did I get everything under the tree, but they gave me the tree itself. On that tree, I found this ornament which Grossman had signed. It was a pleasant surprise to find and is my Stars swag this year.
We hope you get to enjoy your time off with family and friends, as we here at Defending Big D are planning to do. We'll be back with regular content tomorrow, as the Dallas Stars will be taking on the St. Louis Blues tomorrow night.
Merry Christmas everyone. Stay safe and thank you for reading what we put here -- we wouldn't be where we are without each and every one of you. We love you guys and gals.
