Brenden Morrow Out Tonight With Upper Body Injury

The Captain hasn't been quite right lately. Perhaps this injury is why.
The Captain hasn't been quite right lately. Perhaps this injury is why.

The Dallas Stars took another hit on the injury front this morning when it was announced that Brenden Morrow would miss tonight's game against the Los Angeles Kings with an upper body injury. The Stars captain left Monday night's game against the Edmonton Oilers for a time in the first period, but returned to finish the game, earning his 500th point when he assisted on Steve Ott's second period goal.

Mark Stepneski of ESPN Dallas reports on Twitter...

Brenden Morrow out tonight with upper body injury. Tomas Vincour will play with Mike Ribeiro and Steve Ott.

So that answers our next question.

Vincour helped to spell Morrow in the first period on Monday night and ye old eye ball test revealed many positives in his game when he was out there, though he posted only eight minutes of ice time overall playing mostly with Toby Petersen and Tom Wandell.

Word is that it's not a bad injury, but that he has multiple nagging things that need to be rested to get him right.

Brenden Morrow took three minor penalties in the win and leads the entire NHL in minors with 17 through 20 games. That's quite a pace. It was previously reported during the Stars recent four game road swing that he was nursing an elbow/upper body injury, so this could be an extension of that. It could also be related to the cross-checks he took in the lower back before he left the game in Monday.

Expect lines to look like this tonight as Morrow heals:
