I'm not even sure if this is a real news story or not but we're following several Swedish reports that the Stars have signed a defenseman named Severin Blindenbacher.

So take that for what you will, and thanks to the Allen Americans Blog and Hundred Degree Hockey for the Tweets.
Blindenbacher was drafted by the Coyotes in 2001 but never did play in North America. At 27 years old, it's unclear right now exactly what kind of help this would be (AHL/NHL). Without any North American experience, our current guess is that he'll be with the Texas Stars, but wouldn't rule anyone out in training camp this year. The deal is a two way contract for $870k at the NHL level. He currently plays for the Färjestad Wolves in the Swedesh Elite League.
I'm sure we'll have some more details from an English speaking source sometime soon.
If anyone can read these European reports, now is your time to show off.
