Why the Stars drafted him:
Another decent sized defenseman that likes to play a physical game. Alex really started to improve his game this past season with the WHL Silvertips. He does have some decent puck moving capabilities and could turn out to be a solid all-around type defenseman
A second opinion:
Alex's own words when he talked to McKeens hockey:
To be honest, I don't really worry about points. I just try to concentrate on playing a solid game. Some things I want to work on is my physical game, I want to throw more checks and get involved in the play more that way.
