There aren't many Dallas Stars over in Germany for the World Championships this year, but two that are there played key roles for their teams today.
Defenseman Phillip Larsen helped lead Denmark to a stunning 2-1 overtime win over Team USA earlier in the day. Larsen led the Danes in ice time and was a plus one as he was on the ice for the OT winner scored by Steve Lassen. Denmark now has a very good chance of finishing first in their group while the U.S. will need to beat Finland on Wednesday to avoid playing in the relegation group.
Meanwhile Steve Ott along with Team Canada steamrolled Latvia 6-1. Ott went pointless for the second straight game, but has been used primarily as a center and has done surprisingly well at the faceoff dot winning over 55% of his faceoffs in both games. He also picked up a penalty in the 2nd period - it is Steve Ott after all - and finished the game a +1.
