Dallas Stars Ups & Downs: Week 6

Sadly if you're looking for good, positive vibes this week you're going to have to look to a different post.  Sure the Stars showed plenty of heart during their two losses in California this past week, but the bottom line is they did in fact lose both games and the really good performances were few and far between for Dallas.

Goalies Trend Notes
Kari Lehtonen Did he cost the Stars a win in either game this past week? Not exactly, but still we can't ignore seven goals against.
Andrew Raycroft Hard to go up or down when you're on the bench.  At least he wore his hat well...
Trevor Daley Granted he was part of the problem on the penalty kill, but his 5 on 5 and power play ice time was spent well with lots of shots and a plus 1 rating.
Mark Fistric Continues to struggle with his positioning on the ice.
Nicklas Grossman Had a rough week and was a little bit exposed going up against faster teams.
Matt Niskanen It's not like he was horrible out there this past week, but he was effective on the power play and his puck movement looked off.
Stephane Robidas Took all three penalties against the Ducks in a game that seemed to sum up how bad his luck has been over the last week has been.
Karlis Skrastins An even score is business as usual for Karlis.  Not flashy but not a standout either.
Jamie Benn Continued his great play as of late but it sure would have been nice to see him cash in that penalty shot against the Ducks.
Krys Barch Played only four minutes and still managed to be a -1 in the game against the Kings.
Tom Wandell Maybe he's not fully recovered from his injury?  Sure doesn't seem like it anyway.
Adam Burish Sure you can debate if he really deserved 5, 10 and a game for his hit on the Kings Drew Doughty, but he did put himself in a position to have that kind of penalty called on him.
Loui Eriksson The Stars need Loui to score goals, especially on the power play...  He didn't and thus he's trending down.
Brenden Morrow The three goals the Stars allowed while 5 on 5 in both games, Morrow was on the ice for all of them.
James Neal Lots of shots, lots of vigor against the Kings.  Was a little quieter against the Ducks.
Steve Ott Was his agitating best against the Kings but still not as effective as I think all of us would hope him to be..
Toby Petersen Penalty killing is supposed to be his specialty and with the PK doing as poorly as it did, he was part of the PK problems.
Mike Ribeiro No goals yet.  Because of that it would have been nice to see him take more shots than he has been taking
Brad Richards He did help spark a bit of a comeback against the Ducks, but other than that he had a pretty quiet week.
Brandon Segal Anytime he scores like he did against the Ducks it's always a bonus.  He also stepped up physically against the Kings.
Brian Sutherby Healthy scratch against the Kings and very limited ice time against the Ducks and he's suddenly not doing enough to keep his spot in the lineup.
