Dallas Stars to Help Texas Rangers Fans Keep Track of World Series During Home Games

New, comments

The Dallas Stars six game home stand continues this week as the World Series gets started and no one can ignore that enormous elephant in the middle of our proverbial sports living room. Not even the Stars. So they have a plan to keep you up to date during the games so you can come out to the AAC and have your Ranger fun too.

The Stars attempted to have the Saturday game against the Buffalo Sabres moved to earlier in the day, even getting TXA-21 to agree to the switch, but the NHL will not force a team to play an afternoon game on a back to back, as the Sabres will be. That would be unfair to the Sabres.

So on Thursday, Saturday and next Wednesday it's good to know that there will be options. Stake a claim in the Jack Daniels Club or other restaurants at the game out into the hallway to the nearest television often...stand outside and watch the big screen, for some reason(?)... If you have tickets, there are options.

Here is the release from the Stars:

FRISCO, Tex. -- The Dallas Stars plan on helping fans attending home games at American Airlines Center this week keep track of the Texas Rangers in the World Series, as the Stars have home games on Thursday (Stars vs. Kings; World Series Game Two) and Saturday (Stars vs. Sabres; World Series Game Three) at the same time as the baseball games.

Plans to be implemented for these Stars home games at American Airlines Center include:

  • The Rangers game will be shown in its entirety on the external video board in AT&T Plaza.
  • American Airlines Center features over 500 television sets in public areas, including all Club settings, suite televisions, elevators and concourses. The Stars plan on having half of these televisions on the Rangers game and half on the Stars game.
  • The Stars will be showing in-game World Series updates on the main scoreboard after every inning, including the replay of highlights when available.

Who would have ever realistically thought this would be happening in June when the schedule came out?

Yours truly will be there, perhaps glued to a television in the hallway for 3 hours. What can I do? My teams need me.
