Who to root for: Saturday 3/14

With just 14 games remaining in the season and the Dallas Stars locked into a battle for a playoff spot, we're going to take a daily look at each game in the NHL that has an impact on the Dallas Stars.

Don't forget, the Dallas Stars take on the Minnesota Wild tonight at 7:00p CST.

Saturday, March 14th:

Detroit Red Wings (1st) @ St. Louis Blues (11th), 1:00p CST: The Blues sit just two points back of the Stars, who are 0-3-0 against St. Louis this season. With just one game remaining in the season series, the Blues could potentially have the upper hand when it comes to tie-breakers. As much as I hate to say it, we need a regulation Red Wings victory. Winging it in Motown; St. Louis Game Time

Nashville Predators (10th) @ Phoenix Coyotes (14th), 9:00p CST: The Stars need the Pheonix Coyotes, losers of four in a row and 3-6-1 in their last ten, to pull of the regulation upset of 10th place Nashville. The Preds sit just one point back of the Stars. On The Forecheck; Five For Howling

Los Angles Kings (13th) @ San Jose Sharks (2nd), 9:00p CST: While the Kings certainly have a good chance of still making the playoffs (67 points, 5 out of eighth place), I prefer to see the San Jose Sharks keep losing and flounder their way into the playoffs. Battle of California; Fear The Fin

Colorado Avalanche (15th) at Edmonton Oilers (7th), 9:00p CST: The Avs already did the Stars a favor by beating the Minnesota Wild in OT on Thursday night. They could help us out once more with another upset victory over the Oilers, who are locked with the Stars at 72 points. Mile High Hockey
