The Americans held off a strong Finnish attack in the first period, in which they were outshot 20-7. They scored three goals in the second period in route to a rousing 3-2 win. They will next face Russia on Friday. The winner of that game moves on to the gold medal game....

Team USA opens World Championships with 4-2 victory over Latvia
