In Hockey's Small World, Lost Connection Joins Pyle, Sceviour

Fresh off his hiring as head coach of the Texas Stars, Jeff Pyle was busy on the ice in training camp last September, trying to acclimate himself to the Stars’ systems and players alike. During a break, one of the forwards skated up to him, "My dad wanted me to say hello." Pyle paused for a second, racking his brain, then the last name clicked: Sceviour. "I was thinking, ‘How old do I feel right now?’," said Pyle. The reason why the name clicked was a lost connection from over twenty years ago when Pyle spent three seasons between the IHL and Europe playing with Darin Sceviour, father of current Stars forward Colton. Stars trade Roman for Esposito

The Dallas Stars made a move in their minor-league system late Friday afternoon when they sent prospect left wing Ondrej Roman to the Florida Panthers in exchange for center Angelo Esposito. Both players were selected in the 2007 draft - Roman in the 5th round by the Stars and Esposito with the 20th overall pick by the Pittsburgh Penguins. Neither player will have to move far. Esposito is currently with the AHL's San Antonio Rampage, where he has two goals, three assists and and eight penalty minutes in 16 games. He also spent three games in the ECHL with the Cincinnati Cyclones this season. Roman has spent most of the season with the Texas Stars, where he has one goal and four assists.

Texas Stars routed by Milwaukee Admirals, 5-2

From Hundred Degree Hockey: Texas seemed guilty of a lot of standing around. The Stars will re-rack for Saturday, taking a hard look at the game footage from tonight to determine what they need to improve.

As per the NHL's official Twitter feed. US Network only. Us poor suckers in Canada I guess only rate a token game five showing and then out to dry on games six and seven.
