Defending Big D, a Dallas Stars community

Reilly Smith (hear our interview with him here) had a big month in November, going 7-2-9 in eight games -- including three goals in the Denver Cup this past weekend. The Redhawks went 6-0-2 on the month, rebounding from an abysmal start to the season and are now 8-6-2 overall. Smith and his 11 goals in 14 games are a big part of that resurgence, with Smith now 2nd in the CCHA overall in goals scored.

Dallas Stars prospects Reilly Smith with 2 goals and Curtis McKenzie with one goal in the CCHA Tournament Championship game, winning 5 - 2 over Western Michigan. It's the first time the Redhawks have won the Mason Cup. Reilly was even named to the all tournament team. They will be playing UNH this Saturday at 4 pm EDT on ESPNU. If you have a chance to watch - check out Miami's #18 Reilly Smith and #16 Curtis McKenzie. Not next season but the following season, there's a very good chance you'll see Reilly in a TX Stars jersey. I'll miss him as a Redhawk but I'll love him in Austin. Go Reilly!
