2/7 Stars Watching Party at Hully and Mo's

This is a bit last minute, but Mike Modano just posted this watching party at Hully and Mo's for tonight's game against the Coyotes. If you're in Dallas, and not going to the game at the AAC, you should make an appearance!

I should also add that this is not an official Dallas Stars watching party, so don't expect free goodies or the ice girls. This is something that Modano is throwing together on his own.

Reilly Smith Named The CCHA Player Of The Month

"Smith had a stellar January, leading Miami to a 6-2-0 month and climbing the RedHawks all the way to second place in the CCHA standings. He totaled 10 points in eight games, scoring seven goals while dishing out three assists. Of his seven goals, four were game-winners, one was short-handed and three came on the power play. Smith was also +5 on the month, fired 31 shots on goal and blocked five shots."

Smith was also the Player Of The Month for November.

Dallas Stars Activate Brenden Morrow From IR

The team announced this morning that they have activated Captain Brenden Morrow from the injured reserve list, giving them a full roster of 23 with the eight healthy defensemen.

No further roster moves have been announced at this time. The team will leave town soon to fly to Anaheim.

At various points of the season we've heard back pain, shoulder pain, neck pain, arm pain, illness...You name it, when describing Brenden Morrow. Let's hope the All-Star break was a good respite for him and that he can be effective with Ribeiro, who is also dealing with the on-going issue of his knee.

The Dallas Stars have announced they have recalled defenseman Philip Larsen from the Texas Stars. Larsen played two games over the weekend, both losses. No word yet on whether to expect Tomas Vincour back with the team at some point in the near future. Vincour scored a goal on Friday night.

With Larsen, the Stars have 8 defenseman now on the roster. With both Souray and Robidas battling foot injuries, there's a chance this is just precautionary. More to come after practice this afternoon.

Stars Place Benn On IR, Call Up Matt Fraser

The Dallas Stars announced late Sunday afternoon that forward Jamie Benn was being placed on IR retroactive to Jan. 14. Benn has missed the last four games after having his appendix removed.

To fill his roster spot, the Stars called up Matt Fraser from the Texas Stars. The 6-foot-2, 207-pound forward ranks second on the Texas Stars in scoring with 35 points (21g, 14a). He leads the club with 21 goals and is tied for third overall in the AHL.

This likely means Benn will not return for Tuesday's game against the Anaheim Ducks, which had been considered an outside possibility. His participation in the 2012 NHL All-Star game has not yet been determined.

There was an article in site of Jokerit Helsinki. I won't publish it since it's in Finnish. But it goes like this:

Klingberg goes back to Sweden, to Elitserien. Jokerit wanted him to stay next year, he wanted back to Sweden, so it goes down like this.

His new team will be announced later.
