We are complaining about Kari not getting a shutout? Look at Craig Anderson and Jose Theodore... they save more shots then they have SA O_o Beautiful statistic by NHL.com! Pekka Rinne got a shutout and has a worse save-percentage :-)
A new mask design for Kari Lehtonen by David Gunnarsson. You can read more about the process and other amazing works on his blog, facebook page or iPhone and Android apps. http://www.daveart.com/blog/ http://www.daveart.com/mask-gallery/set/72157625838365430/default.aspx
Proof that Jeff Woywitka's goal in the third period was indeed a power play goal. Not a big deal in the scheme of things, but for a team that has struggled all season long on special teams it's significant when a great night is not completely recognized as such. Jeff Woywitka scored at the 18:52 mark of the third period, with two seconds remaining in the second minor given to Stewart for hi-sticking Loui Eriksson. The NHL.com recap says the Stars went 4-for-5 on the PP, yet the official game summary states 3-for-5. That's some very important percentage points in the NHL rankings. The truth is out there.
24-7! I`m sure a lot of you are sick of Sid vs. Ovie. But if you got a chance to see the first episode of HBO`s 24-7 Winter Classic speil. There is a huge marketing opportunity I think would be brillitant for the Stars. Seeing Ott, and Burish prank Tommy Wandell. Seeing the games(off ice) between Richards, Neal, and Eriksson. I think this is perfect for a young, fun, hard working, detail oriented Stars team. If it could get local prime time coverage, I think it would be gold for local interest. Any other thoughts or marketing ideas like this, or do you not like it all together.
This will be fixed by the time Sunday morning gets here, but seriously...this was seen on the DMN Stars front page last night at around 1:30 AM. (http://starsblog.dallasnews.com/) Everyone makes mistakes (me especially), but...well, that's funny. "FC" .... What could that mean?
You were going to have to see it sooner or later, even if you purposefully tried to avoid anything press conference related today. If someone had told me 5 years ago that Mike Modano will end his career with the Detroit Red Wings, I would have postulated that said person was nuttier than a squirrels cheeks in October. And here we are.
I posted an NHL realignment plan over on Japers' Rink, and it would mean big changes for Dallas. I'd love to hear your input (in the comments over ther) on whether the plan would work.
