Marc Crawford Fired
News flash; The Ticket just reported that Crawford is out! What will this lead to? Who do you think is next in line?
The Warrior Sword!!
Here's the link from Toys R Us....I ran a search and thought I should share. Either Burish forgot how much he paid for it, or Toys R Us is jacking up the price in anticipation of a sales spike before playoff time. Evidently, the thing goes for just over forty bucks at Amazon...
Rebuild A Stars Team
I was going to make this another '98-99 exclusive, but I figured y'all are all sick of me talking about that team, and that it might be more interesting if we had several different teams to choose from. Try to "rebuild" a Stars team from a particular season of your choice, by listing off comparable, current NHL players in a 20-player roster. Example will be provided below.
Is it just me, or have the fanposts been moved down the screen?
This page layout seems less intuitive... fanposts are like second-tier articles, and putting them in a place that's harder to get access to doesn't seem to make much sense. If I had a choice, I would put fanposts on top, fanshots below, and keep everything else as-is. Anyway, that's all I have to say. If there's nothing you can do about this, or if this change exists only on my end, that's okay. kthxbai
Obtaining Old Stars Radio Ads
Would anyone happen to know if it would be possible to get access to the old radio ads that they played during Stars games, circa '99? It adds an extra layer of authenticity to video game hockey if you can play the right ads, at appropriate moments.
Your All-Time Stars Roster
List off what you consider to be a solid all-time Dallas Stars roster. Any player that played for the Stars is eligible. If the Stars had the rights to the player when they were in the minors, or in any other lower-level league, before their regular NHL appearances, you can add them to the Minor list (then they could be called up to fill in the gaps). List the year you want the player to be from after their name. Minor league selections must be from the time period when they were in the minors. The main club has four offensive lines, three defense lines, two goalies, and three "free" players (scratches); for the minor team, pick only two offensive lines, two defensive lines, two goalies, and one scratch. My scratches below are in italics; you can do the same if you want. '99 is '98-99, '04 is '03-04, and '11 is the present -- '10-11.
The Organizational Depth Chart Really Needs An Update
That way it'll be easier for us to make fantasy teams, and it'll help us remember that Turco, Modano, and Climie aren't with the team anymore. Thanks.
Alot of Local Interest in the WHL Tonight
Interesting for Dallas Hockey Fans tonight in the WHL, we have 2009 First Round Pick Scott Glennie vs. Coppell Native and 2011 NHL Draft Prospect Colin Jacobs playing each other tonight.
I would love to see a 2nd strong local prospect that could play for the Stars one day. This would excite local hockey fans for sure.
Next Favorite Level of Hockey
Outside of the NHL, what is your next favorite level of hockey to follow? This would be interesting to see which levels we should cover and follow more, Juniors NCAA Minor Leagues International Compeition
'99-00/current Stars Fantasy Swap
If you could swap a player from the current team to the '99-00 Stars, and vice versa, who would you send and get? The change must benefit the current Stars, and give the '00 Stars at least similar chances to doing as well as they did (6 game Stanley Cup defeat). I'd be inclined to send Robidas and get Darryl Sydor. Robidas is a great and clutch player, but Syd fits in great with the system; he has a strong offensive bent, and more importantly, he has so much determination. This is the guy that, after he took an injury and couldn't skate anymore, tried to crawl to block the Devils' shots on net. After he made mistakes that led to game losses, he was thoroughly upset; one time he said that it was 'all his fault'. This may have affected his play for the worse, a lack of confidence, but he took every defeat personally. We need his spirit in the team. Too often, the Stars fall asleep, don't stand up for their team or teammates, don't really try, and so on. Say what you like about Syd's skills now, but he had a lot back then, and he, then and now, is the antithesis of the Stars' current attitude.
