Dallas Stars Prospect Update: Cole Ully Has Seven Points In Four Game Point Streak

Bruce Bennett

How have the Dallas Stars prospects done in this past week of hockey? Defending Big D is committed to to giving you weekly updates as their seasons progress.

Remi Elie had four points in his three games this week for the Belleville Bulls. He had a goal and an assist twice, firstly against the Ottawa 67s during a 4-3OT loss on Wednesday and again in a 5-3 win over the Peterborough Petes on Thursday. He went pointless against Owen Sound on Saturday.

Jason Dickinson played in two games this week for the Guelph Storm as they clinched a playoff spot and sit atop the OHL's Western Conference. He had a goal and an assist in a 5-3 win over Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds on Friday.

Gemel Smith had his point streak broken at 9 games as he went pointless in two games for the London Knights. He failed to register any points in their back to back games against the Sarnia Sting.

Nick Paul only played two games this week and had a goal in each one of them. He scored the game winner in a 3-2 win over the Windsor Spitfires on Thursday. His second goal came during a 3-2 loss to the Oshawa Generals on Sunday. He was named second star of the game.

Cody Payne played two games for Saginaw and had a single assist. It came during a 6-4 loss at the hands of the Guelph Storm.

Radek Faksa only played two games this week but racked up four points, all assists, during those games. He had a single assist in a 6-3 loss to the Spitfires on Friday. He followed that up with three assists during a 5-3 win against the Niagara IceDogs. He was a key part of the effort by Sudbury to come back from a 3-1 deficit early in the third period.

Mike Winther is out injured and did not play for the Calgary Hitmen this week.

Cole Ully is currently on a four game point streak with seven points in his four games this week. He had a single assist against the Tri City Americans, two goals and an assist against the Portland Winterhawks, two goals against the Prince George Cougars before topping it off with an assist against the Vancouver Giants. I got an email about the game from reader Caleb Moyer about Ully's performance against the Winterhawks. Both his goals came during very impressive plays against top defensemen Matt Dumba and Derek Pouliot. He also earned himself third and first star honours in two of those games.

Dmitry Sinitsyn had a single assist over three games for the Regina Pats this week. His single assist came during a 3-2 win over the Kootenay Ice. That assist gave him his 30th point of the season.

Branden Troock had four points in four games this week as the Seattle Thunderbirds clinched a playoff spot in the Western Conference of the WHL. His best performance stats wise was his two assists during a 4-3 win over the Tri-City Americans on Friday. One of his assists came on the game winning goal late in the third period.

Troy Vance only played a single game for Charlottetown this week but he finished with a goal and an assist in a 4-3SO win against Moncton.

Philippe Desrosiers registered his fourth shutout of the season in his only game this week. Rimouski beat Drummondville 3-0 and Desrosiers was named first star of the game. He saved all 28 shots he faced.

Maxime Lagace played in only one game this week, a 6-4 loss to Balinville-Boisbriand. He saved 26 of 31 shots and finished with a .839SVS%. The sixth goal was an empty net goal.

Matej Paulovic played two games for Muskegon this week and had a single assist against Youngstown during a 5-2 win. He now has six points through 14 games in the USHL.

Alex Guptill did not play this week after sustaining an injury in a game against Penn State last week.

Devin Shore played two games this week against Merrimack. He assisted on both of Maine's goals in a 2-1 on Friday. He had another assist in a 3-2 win on Saturday and was named first star of the game. He now has 35 points in 28 games for the University of Maine.

The SHL has not been playing this week so both Ludwig Bystrom and John Klingberg did not play any league games.

Bystrom did play with Farjestad during their trip to North America to faceoff against the AHL All Stars and the Toronto Marlies. Bystrom had a single assist in a loss to the All Stars and did not register a point in a 4-3 OT loss to Toronto.

Both Emil Molin and Niklas Hansson played three games for Rogle this week. They both registered assists on separate goals in a 4-2 win against IK Oskarshamn. Niklas Hansson would also get the assist on Rogle's lone goal against Malmo on Tuesday.

Henri Kiviaho is beginning to get some starts for KalPa after they traded (sold) their goaltender to Sweden. He has lost both games so far and had SVS%s of 0.882% and 0.909% in those games. He is likely to be the starter for the rest of the season, not too bad for a 20 year old.

Esa Lindell played in three games this week for Jokerit and went pointless through all of them. He also had a minus two rating. Aleski Makela played three games for Ilves and also went pointless.

Austin Smith played three games for Assat and finished with two goals over those games.
