Dallas Stars Prospect Update: Jason Dickinson Impresses With Eight Point Week, Gemel Smith Extends Point Streak To Nine Games

How have the Dallas Stars prospects done in this past week of hockey? Defending Big D is committed to to giving you weekly updates as their seasons progress.

OHL

Remi Elie only played two games this week but finished with four points in those two games. He had a goal and an assist against the Guelph Storm and two assists against Sarnia. The Bulls would lose their game against the Guelph Storm but Elie would earn third star honors.

Jason Dickinson had an excellent week with eight points in three games. Dickinson had three assists in a 10-4 win over the Kitchener Rangers. He would follow that up with two goals and an assist in a 8-0 romp over Mississauga Steelheads. He was second star of the game. He finish the week with two assists in a 7-4 win over the Bulls.

Gemel Smith extended his point streak to 9 games after he had a single point in the last three games for the London Knights. He had a goal against Owen Sound, following by assists against Erie and Plymouth.

Nick Paul played three games and had a single assist against the Windsor Spitfires. North Bay would lose that game 6-5.

Cody Payne would play three games and went pointless through all three games.

Radek Faksa got two assists in three games for the Sudbury Wolves this week. They both came during a 7-1 win against the Niagara IceDogs on Saturday.

WHL

Mike Winther played three games this week for the Calgary Hitmen. He had a single goal on Wednesday against the Victoria Royals during a 7-6 overtime win. He scored the goal which tied up the game and sent it to overtime.

Dmitry Sinitsyn only played two games this week but had a three point game in a 7-3 win against the Saskatoon Blades. He had a goal and two assists and was named second star of the game. There was a nice article about Sinitsyn in the Leader-Post this week.

Despite a lengthy absence due to injury it appears that Branden Troock is still on a good pace. He had a goal and two assists in three games this week. His two assists came during a 5-3 win over the Everett Silvertips and was named third star of the game. Troock would have another goal during a 4-0 win against Spokane.

QMJHL

Troy Vance would play three games this week and had a goal and an assist in those three games. He scored Charlottetown's lone goal during a 7-1 loss to Moncton. He would add an assist against Blainville-Boisbriand in a 5-2 loss.

Philippe Desrosiers played three games for Rimouski and they won all three games. He let in two goals on 16 shots on Friday against Saint John but the Oceanic still won 4-2. He would follow that with a goaltender duel between himself and Zach Fucale. Both earned shutouts and the Oceanic won in the shootout. Desrosiers saved all the shots against him. He would come in on relief on Sunday against Charlottetown and saved all the shots he faced in 25minutes of ice time.

Maxime Lagace played two games and lost both of them. He would let in seven goals in a 7-2 loss to Gatineau, a .868 save percentage. He let in three goals and had a .919 save percentage in a 4-2 loss to Quebec.

USHL

Matej Paulovic played only a single game this week and went pointless in that game. His only contribution on the stat sheet was two penalty minutes.

NCAA

Alex Guptill had a goal and an assist on Friday against Penn State during a 7-3 win. He went pointless in the second game and appears to have been injured during the game.

Devin Shore played two games against Notre Dame and only had a single assist. His assist came in a 3-2 loss to Notre Dame. Maine won the first game 2-1.

Sweden

Ludwig Bystrom played three games this week and went pointless. He was averaging around 16 minutes on the ice over the three games.

John Klingberg played three games and had a single goal over those three games. His goal came during a 4-2 win against Lulea on Tuesday. He played around 21 minutes per game.

Neither Emil Molin or Niklas Hansson played this week.

Finland

Austin Smith played in two games and had a single goal for Assat this week. He conintues to play on their top line.

Henri Kiviaho was the starter the Pelicans during a 4-2 loss. He was the backup in the other game that week.

Aleksi Makela played a single game with Ilves this week and went pointless.
