It's been a defensive meltdown for the Stars since the calendar turned to 2014 with 18 goals allowed in the past three games. That's a nice, round, horrible average of six (six!) goals a night. It's happened to both Dan Ellis and Kari Lehtonen, it's happened with and without players like Sergei Gonchar and Trevor Daley in the lineup. In short, it's not a situation of easy answers.
The Stars will try to get back on track tonight against the New Jersey Devils, who defeated the Stars for the Stanley Cup way back in 2000 in a game that may or may not still give me nightmares. None of the current Stars and I believe only Patrik Elias and Martin Brodeur are the Devils holdovers
New Jersey has also lost three in a row and their problem right now is goal scoring. So one thing or another will have to give tonight. Join us as we find out what that is.
