Prospect Update: Shore Has Five Point Week, Smith, Paul and Winther Have Four Point Weeks

Jamie Sabau

How have the Dallas Stars prospects done in this past week of hockey? Defending Big D is committed to to giving you weekly updates as their seasons progress.

Remi Elie went pointless through two games this week for the Belleville Bulls. The Bulls lost both of the games and only managed to score a single goal in those games.

Jason Dickinson had a single assist this week for the Guelph Storm. His assist came during a 4-2 win over Owen Sound on Friday. He went pointless against the Saginaw Spirit on Sunday.

Gemel Smith had an impressive week with four points in two games for the London Knights. He had a goal and an assist in an 8-1 win against the Sarnia Sting and two assists in a 6-1 win against the Kitchener Rangers.

Nick Paul was at a two point per game pace this week. He got a goal and an assist in each of North Bay's two games. He was third star of the game for his play on Thursday in their 5-1 win against Saginaw. He was the first star during North Bay's 3-1 win against the Petes on Sunday.

Cody Payne had three points in four games this week for the Saginaw Spirit. He scored both of the Spirit's goals in a 7-2 loss to the Plymouth Whalers on Monday. He would also score their only goal in a 5-1 loss to North Bay on Thursday.

Radek Faksa got two goals in three games for the Sudbury Wolves. His first goal came during a 7-4 defeat at the hands of the Peterborough Petes on Thursday. His second was against the Barrie Colts. A game which the Wolves won 4-2. Faksa got the empty net goal.

Mike Winther played three games for the Calgary Hitmen this week and finished with four points in two of those games. He had a goal and an assist against the Regina Pats (and was named second star of the game) on Tuesday and two assists in a game against Edmonton on Saturday which they lost 7-3.

Cole Ully only played two games this week. He had a goal and an assist in a 7-1 win over the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Wednesday.

Dmitry Sinitsyn played four games this week for the Regina Pats. He went pointless in all but one of those games. He did however get three assists during a 8-0 shutout of the Prince George Cougars. He also racked up 15 penalty minutes for fighting just over eight minutes into the third period.

Branden Troock is still out injured.

Troy Vance continues on his pointless streak. He didn't get a single point in his last three games for the Charlottetown Islanders. His last point was on the 10th of January.

Philippe Desrosiers only played one game this week but he finished with a .970 save percentage in a 2-1 shootout win. He saved 32 shots and saved a further three in the shootout.

Maxime Lagace played two games this week for the Sherbrooke Phoenix. He saved 38 shots on Friday during their 4-1 win against Charlottetown. That would be good enough for a 0.974 save percentage. He would get pulled after two periods on Saturday however after letting in two goals on 10 shots.

Matej Paulovic would played two games against the USA development team this week. He had a single assist in thier game on Sunday during a 5-2 win.

Alex Guptill played two games this week against Michigan State. Michigan would beat their state rivals in both games. Guptill would get a single assist in the two games.

Devin Shore continues to impress with the Maine Black Bears. He had a single goal in a 4-3 win against New Brunswick on Monday. He went pointless against New Hampshire on Friday in a 4-3 loss but would shine in the 4-2 win on Saturday. He would be involved with every goal for Maine, racking up a goal and three assists. He had five points over those three games.

John Klingberg played three games for Frolunda and averaged just over 20 minutes of ice time. He had a very impressive game against AIK on Wednesday with a goal and two assist in a 4-1 win. He went pointless in the other two games.

Ludwig Bystrom only played two games this week and averaged around 14 minutes of ice time. He went pointless in both games for Farjestad.

Both Niklas Hansson and Emil Molin played two games with Rogle this week. Emil Molin went pointless while Niklas Hansson got a single assist in a 4-1 win against IF Bjorkloven.

Esa Lindell played three games with Jokerit this week. he had a single assist on Jokerit's first goal against KalPa last Monday. He went pointless in the other games.

Austin Smith had two assists in three games for Assat this week. He also signed a contract to play with them next year. It doesn't appear likely that his future lies with the Dallas Stars organisation.

Henri Kiviaho didn't play in the SM-Liiga this week. It appears he has been doing some stints in the Jr. A SM-Liiga which I missed. His stats, what I can find anyway, are in the table.
