Dallas Stars Prospect Update: Nick Paul Has Five Point Week, Dickinson Has Another Three Point Game

Bruce Bennett

How have the Dallas Stars prospects done in this past week of hockey? Defending Big D is committed to to giving you weekly updates as their seasons progress.

Remi Elie played two games this week and had a single assist against the Ottawa 67s on Friday. They played the 67s on back to back nights on Friday and Saturday. They won the first game 5-2 but dropped the second 2-1.

Jason Dickinson played three games this week all of which were back to back from Friday to Sunday. He had three points, all of which came during Sunday's 6-1 over the Kingston Frontenacs. He was second star of the game. This is his third three point game of this month.

Gemel Smith played three games and got both his first assist and first goal as a London Knight. His first assist came during a 6-2 game against the Kitchener Rangers on Thursday. He scored the Knights lone goal in a 3-1 loss to the Mississauga Steelheads on Sunday.

Nick Paul had a five point week for the North Bay Battalion. He got a goal and two assists during North Bay's 4-1 win over Mississauga on Friday. He was second star of the game. He would get another two goals in a 5-1 win over the Niagara IceDogs on Sunday. He was named the first star of the game.

Cody Payne played his first games in January this week and went pointless through both games. He was a minus 1 against the Sudbury Wolves on Saturday.

Radek Faksa played three games this week for the Sudbury Wolves and continues to do well. He had two point to put him with five over six games for the Wolves. Both assists this week came on Saturday's game against the Saginaw Spirit. Despite that they'd lose that game 4-3.

Mike Winther played his first two games for the Calgary Hitmen and his first game for over a month and a half. He has got a single goal so far in those two games. His goal was the third of five goals that the Calgary Hitmen would put past the Red Deer Rebels on Friday during their 5-1 win.

Cole Ully had two assist through two games this week for the Kamloops Blazers. Both assists were on powerplay goals against the Seattle Thunderbirds on Saturday. They would lose the game 3-2.

Dmitry Sinitsyn played twice for the Regina Pats and went pointless. The Pats lost on Friday 6-1 to the Kootenay Ice and Prince Albert Raiders 4-2 on Saturday.

Branden Troock is still out with injury and did not play this week.

Troy Vance played three games this week for the Charlottetown Islanders. He went pointless through the three games, all of which the Islanders lost.

Philippe Desrosiers played two games for the Rimouski Oceanic this week. He back stopped the Oceanic to a 6-3 win on Friday and had a .880 save percentage. The second game was more ugly, a 8-1 loss to the Halifax Mooseheads. He was pulled after 44 minutes after letting in six goals on 32 shots. He had a 0.812 save percentage.

Maxime Lagace played two games, both losses. He let in four goals in an OT loss to the Rouyn-Noranda on Friday. He had a 0.913 save percentage. in that game. He had a bad game against Val-d'Or during their 7-3 loss. He let in seven goals on 29 shots. That was good enough for a 0.759 save percentage.

Matej Paulovic played two games this week, both wins for the Muskegon Lumberjacks. He had a single assist in their 7-4 win against Youngstown.

Alex Guptill did not play a single game this week in the NCAA.

Devin Shore on the other hand was involved in three games and had two points, a goal and an assist. He got a goal against St. Francis Xavier on Tuesday and an assist in a 7-2 loss at the hands of Boston College on Saturday.

John Klingberg played two games this week and had a single assist. The assist came during a 3-4 shootout loss to Linkoping. He averaged around 22 minutes of ice time per game over the week. He is currently 9th in defenseman scoring in the SHL.

Ludwig Bystrom played two games this week. In a slight mystery he played only 1.36 against Brynas on Thursday and then nearly 20 minutes against AIK on Saturday. Its possible he suffered an injury in Brynas though I didn't see any evidence of it. He finished pointless with a minus one rating.

Both Emil Molin and Niklas Hansson played two games for Rogle this week. They both had a single assist, in a 4-2 win against Asploven on Friday.

Esa Lindell played all three games for Jokerit this week. He had a single assist in their 3-2 win against Karpat on Thursday. He appears to be regularly playing the second defensive pairing for Jokerit.

Austin Smith had a single assist this week during a 6-5 SO win against the Pelicans. He scored the shootout winner.

Henri Kiviaho did not play any games for KalPa in the SM-Liiga.
