How to make game 48 especially meaningful....

A few things we know going in:

1. Dee-troit has not had to sit out the playoffs for over 20 seasons.

2. Going into this last game, they can guarantee a continuation of this streak by earning at least one point.

3. Should they lose in regulation, the right outcome in certain other games will also prolong their streak.

4. Teams like Dallas who have been eliminated will still play for pride, and often relish the role of spoiler.

Given all of this, suppose the game is tied with one minute remaining in the 3rd period. Would it be bad form if the Stars were to really play spoiler and pull the goalie for an extra skater, to try and deny Detroit that one point?

Of course, it might end up being a meaningless gesture depending on how the other games end up, but it would definitely make things interesting, and would certainly be talked about for a long time, especially if Detroit were actually eliminated that way. I can only imagine how the Wings fans in the stands at the AAC would react as well.
