We only have ONE seat left to be sold. If you would like it, just give our sales rep a call directly. I won't provide an internet link for the final seat.
Give D'Ann a call at 214-387-5646, and she will get you taken care of.
A huge, HUGE thank you to everyone who is joining us for the game! We can't wait to see you there!
[END FINAL UPDATE]
Just wanted to give you guys a quick update on where we stand. The response has been UNBELIEVABLE so far! We had to expand our seats in order to make room for everyone that wanted to join. Based on my emails, there are currently about 70 who have told me that they would like to go --of which, 40 have already paid for their tickets.
If you have told me you would like to go but haven't paid, or haven't e-mailed me yet because you are still considering it, then this update is specifically for you:
On Monday, Feb. 25th, tickets for this game go on sale to the general public. That means that anyone can log on to ticketmaster, pick out their specific seats, and pay for them whenever they like. I believe we currently have a total of 68 seats reserved in sections 120 and 121 that those individuals will not have access to, so those seats I can guarantee. However, if we need to expand for more after individual tickets go on sale, there is no guarantee that we can get more seats next to us, since individuals could buy them in the mean time. Heck, it's possible that there might not even be any seats left, because this game WILL be a sellout.
My advice to you: Shoot me an email (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you have not already, and at least let me know you're interested in coming. If you already have emailed me, then hurry up and buy your tickets! There is still plenty of time for us to make sure we have enough seats, as long as you are at least in contact with me. After this week, though, we are going to run out of room fast, and we really don't want you to miss out on the fun.
I'll also start working on some pre-game meet up stuff sooner or later as well -- just know that it's in the works.
Hey Stars Fans!
As you may recall, I tried to put a Defending Big D party together for opening night at the AAC this season. Due to the extremely short notice, and how quickly the game sold out, things fell through. But I promised I would be back to try it again - so here I am.
This time around, we have plenty of time to prepare for the game, and there will be a cool little bonus tossed in, too. Here's all of the basic info you need:
When: Saturday, April 27th. This is the final game of the regular season, and the Stars will be facing the Detroit Red Wings.
Where We Are Sitting: I have 43 seats saved in the plaza level, section 120. This is the section just to the left of the Stars' bench. I'm not sure which rows, but I know all of the seats are grouped together.
How Much: Tickets will be $50 each, with no ticketmaster fees or surcharges tacked on to surprise you. (If there is any transaction fee, it is very small in comparison. Under a couple of bucks, I think.) Figuring that it is a Saturday night game, let alone against the Red Wings, let alone (again) it being the last game of the season, this is usually considered a "premier game," where these tickets would normally be $70 apiece. That's a nice bit of savings that we normally wouldn't see.
Who Is Coming: I only have 43 seats saved together, so it will be on a first come, first serve basis for those seats. If we should run out, we can still get you into the game at the group discount (if they aren't sold out), but it may not be sitting with or near the rest of the group. We will do our best, but after those 43, there are no guarantees.
How To Pay: You can buy your tickets immediately, if you know you are going. Just send me an e-mail at DBDGroupParty@gmail.com, letting me know you'd like to go, along with how many tickets you plan on buying (just so I can keep track of numbers myself), and I will e-mail you a link to that is handled 100% by the Dallas Stars Ticket Reps. As always I will in no way whatsoever be handling anyone's money. It's all between you and the Stars, no one else. I just like to clarify this in case anyone has any concerns about the process.
The Deadline To Pay: We can only hold empty seats until 30 days before the actual game. After that, the Stars have to be able to sell those seats to the general public. This means you have to pay for your seats no later than March 27th. Ideally, I would like to have this wrapped up before then, say March 15th or so.
The Nice Little Bonus: After the game is over, we will get to head down to the Dallas Stars bench, and get a group picture. I thought that would be a fun thing to have, especially for this being the first ever DBD Group to make it to a game.
The Current Plan: Just show up, watch the game, get your picture taken, and enjoy! That's all there is to it!
Just like before, you do not have to be a regular contributor or commenter of Defending Big D to come and join us. We know there are plenty of readers who choose not to comment, and we count ourselves extremely lucky that you choose to visit us for all your hockey news. If you're new to the site, or a "lurker," and you want to join us, please do! Everyone is welcome!
Season Ticket Holders -If you'd like to join us, you'll have to go along with the exchange policy that is in place. If you have any questions on that, though, feel free to shoot me an e-mail and ask.
As we get nearer to the date, I will gauge interest on meeting at a restaurant of something beforehand. I know The Fan has a couple of party rooms in the back that can be used if enough people are interested, but we can discuss that later.
If you have any other questions or comments, feel free to post them below, or shoot me an e-mail, whichever you prefer.
In Summary: We're going to the game on April 27th. $50 each. E-mail me at DBDGroupParty@gmail.com if you're interested.
Thanks, and go Stars!
