Dallas Stars Daily Links: It's The Final Countdown

Thearon W. Henderson

With the year coming to a close, now is the time for revealing the top moments of 2013. Did your favorite make the list?

As we gear up for another late night game against the Pacific tonight (man, I really don't miss these), there are no real recent developments in the Dallas Stars universe.

If you're a defenseman in Dallas or Austin, you're probably injured.  If you participate in the shootout, you continue to think that going as slow as possible is the key to victory.

Same old same old.

But just in case you want to get a few updates, and take a look at the statistical match-up between the Stars and Los Angeles Kings, Mark Stepneski has it all for you. [Stars Inside Edge]

Meanwhile, blogs and sport sites have begun their best moments of 2013 recaps.  They're always great for a trip down memory lane, and I usually find a couple of moments that I had missed during the year.

We begin with the top 10 NHL fan moments, and there are some doozies. [Puck Daddy]

Up next is the 13 wackiest moments of the year for hockey in general. [Sports Illustrated]

Not on Twitter?  Here's what you missed... [Sports Illustrated]

And here are the best memes of the year.  Sorry Tuba, none of yours made it to the list. [Sports Illustrated]

For the rest of the NHL, it looks like a few players are trying out some of the smaller, lighter equipment that has been talked about for a while.  The hope is that it will result in fewer injuries to those being hit by the larger pads. [ESPN]

The Chicago Blackhawks have put out a Christmas video to rival all Christmas videos.  It's scary how much Patrick Kane looks like Anakin Skywalker. [Puck Daddy]

Here's one of the softest goals let in in a long time.  I'm reminded of those first goals that Marty Turco would let in every now and again before turning it on and shutting the door. [NHL]

And, as always, here is your weekly NHL Grab Bag.  You'll really want to read this one, at the very least for the shoutout to Mike Modano's mullet-style hair do from the early 90s. [Grantland]
