Congratulations 2012 Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings

I can't tell you how much it pains me to type that. As much as I dislike the Kings as a division rival, you have to respect their path to the Cup as perhaps the most dominant Championship team of the past decade.

Steve Bernier made one of the worst mistakes you'll ever see in such a big game and the Kings capitalized, scoring three goals as a result of his boarding major early in the first period. The Kings never looked back.

While we may lament the site of Dustin Brown hoisting the Cup, it's tough to argue that it was great to see such an incredible goalie like Jonathan Quick get what he deserves after such an outstanding postseason. I can only imagine what it was like for Flyers fans tonight, watching Jeff Carter and Mike Richards lift the Cup.

The season is over and we can all move forward, but for now the Los Angeles Kings are the 2012 Stanley Cup Champions. Let the "what would have happened if Stars made the playoffs" debate begin.
