I know that nobody wants to hear this right now but it's true, this was a good year for stars fans. We finally have an owner! Our young guys such as Larsen and Vincour got some good experience and the new coach now has a year of experience under his belt. I would much rather be in the hunt right until the end, rather than a team like the blue jackets where your season is usually over before it begins and you still have many months of torture ahead. Jamie Benn has taken another step toward superstar status and wearing the C eventually, Loui had another Loui type year, and Kari should now be considered a top 5 goaltender. Not to mention the Grossman(n) trade, let's all be honest about that one, he's not worth a 2nd and a 3rd. So joe really made a good move there. While I would've liked to see this team in the playoffs I knew that this would happen. But that's why I love the stars so much, they have never ever broken my heart. Even in 2000 I saw that one coming, so I'm telling you guys now we need to be positive about this season. This team has always lived up to my expectation level, and since this one was put together with some duct tape and gum I think we should all be pretty impressed. Michael Ryder was a revelation scoring 30+ goals, Fiddler was flat out awesome all season long, and Nystrom really helped out and it only cost joe a bag of pucks. That new goalie sure looked good didn't he? Bachmann could be a very good player in the future and is already the best backup goalie we've seen in a while.

But the main reason that I feel good about this season is that it gave us all something we haven't had in a long time, hope. We don't have to worry as to whether or not this team can go get the help they need anymore, instead of having to take guys off the scrap heap all time we can now be seen as real players in free agency again. If I could sit across a table from Lou Lamoriello right now I would tell him one thing, be very afraid. Because my team is going to live at your captain's front door from now on. Imagine how the owner of the canucksmust feel when he looks at the stars, wanna know what his reaction was when he found out Gagliardi was the new owner? "OH SHIT!" that was his reaction. This organization is a giant in the nhl, we're the franchise of the south! Not the predators or the coyotes, us dammit! In a few years we'll be able to look at pens fans and kings and sharks fans and say "that's our captain dammit! #14, that's what a real captain looks like, not cry baby crosby or bitch ass brown, our guy, that's a captain!" So come sunday all the other teams should take notice, while some teams are grinding it out in the playoffs we're going to be preparing. We're the Dallas Stars, we're the team that spanked all of you for a decade. We've been asleep for awhile but we're back now, be very very afraid. We'll see you all soon, very soon...

I know it hurts, but I'm fired up guys. I know that this season was just the start of our next run. The team was better this year than the last, and next year will be better than this year's and so forth. I feel with everything I have that somewhere down the road we'll all look back and say that this was year that we finally got it turned around and started to make our way back where we belong, as one of the elite franchises in hockey. My resolve to stick with this team has only been strengthened by all this. So any of you who have a Dallas Stars flag needs to go out and plant that son of a bitch into the ground and tell everyone that this team is back and is going to take down the big boys one by one and they won't stop until another banner is being raised.
