Stay connected for news and updates

Once again it's that time of year here on Defending Big D where we take a look at each player that suited up for 20 or more games this season (and are still with the team) - and take a look back at their season. What was good about it, what wasn't so good, and the lasting impression they left us as we go into summer.

Key Stat: 19 - Adam Burish set a new career high for points in a season in 2012 with 19.

The Good: Burish was a very solid special teams player for the Stars in 2012. He was exposed when he was used up the lineup with Jamie Benn, but no one could have reasonably expected him to magically become a goal scorer. He is a defensive player that takes faceoffs who was forced into a more offensive role. It didn't work out, but that doesn't overshadow what he actually is.

The Bad: Most of the bad comes from the fact that Burish was overexposed playing up the lineup. He doesn't offer much offensive upside, and the Stars desperately needed a few more offensive options.

The Bottom Line: Burish was a defensive forward that brought energy on an almost nightly basis. He was good on the draw, and his faceoff ability helped Benn's transition to center for the better part of the year. He needs to generate more offense to be a viable top six forward, but in reality that isn't a role that he is very well suited to fill.

The Vote: Rate Burish on a scale of A to F (A being the best of course) based on his performance relative to his potential and your expectations for the season.
