Three big games on the docket tonight, including what is certain to be another exciting tilt between Pittsburgh and Philadelphia.
New Jersey @ Florida - 6:00 p.m., NHL Network
Philadelphia @ Pittsburgh - 6:30 p.m., NBC Sports Network
Detroit @ Nashville - 6:30 p.m., CNBC
A lot of people have been asking me why I haven't been watching the games so far this week; rather, asking me why I haven't watched them after asking my opinion about this play or that play. The truth is, it's taken me quite a bit longer than I expected to "get over" the disappointment of this season -- something I wasn't expecting. I always felt I had a realistic approach to however this season could end but it seems that the disappointment of coming so close yet again hit me harder than I could have expected.
It's also been good to have a few days in a row away from hockey. We spend so much time during the season with the Stars that I always need a bit of a "vacation" at the end of the season before I can move forward into the offseason.
This past week has been a sort of "recharge" week for us here at DBD, but let me assure you that we'll be hitting the ground running next week with our offseason coverage. I'm intrigued and excited at what could come this summer, excited by the fact that the actual possibility of change even exists.
Enjoy the games tonight and this weekend. We'll see you on Monday.
