I was looking at the standings this morning (as I have been doing 10 times a day all season) when I came to a realization: the Stars are only 3 points behind the Coyotes for the division lead with only the Sharks lodged between us and them (a mere 1 point ahead of us). Additionally, we still have a game to go against Phoenix and 2 to go against San Jose. This got me thinking... how come more of us here aren't talking about the possibility of winning the division?

Sitting in the 8th spot after our nifty little 4 game winning streak and fresh off of a win against the Canucks should give us some renewed hope and possibly even some expectations of making the playoffs. Why aren't we looking to set the bar a bit higher? Our beloved stars are only 4 points away from taking the division lead and possibly locking up the 3rd seed in the playoffs. How awesome would that be?

I know the #1 goal at this point is to just get into to the playoffs (regardless of seed) and that winning the division might not be on most people's radars. It's also possible that many of you have already considered this scenario and are simply trying not to get ahead of yourselves. In any event, I was just curious to hear what you guys thought of the Stars' chances of winning the division.
