Season Ticket Holders
We've had seats for 5 years and never had a problem until this year. After our original ticket agent, we've gone through 4 different ones because they keep leaving. Our current agent is making it difficult for us to even want to be a season ticket holder anymore. I started night classes and can no longer go to any of the Tues or Thurs games. Our new agent says their has always been a 5 game limit on turn ins even though none of the other agents went by it. I was wondering if any of the season ticket holders out there have had a harder time exchanging tickets this year. It used to be great when we were able to turn in for credit or exchange games we werent able to make it to. Its just been all hassle this year. We did not get the actual hard ticket book this year, can somebody please scan and link the exchange policy printed in as I cannot find it on the Dallas Stars site? Also, if it is listed in there, can you scan the season ticket holder prices diagram? I used to have it but can not longer find it. They are also giving us hassle about the upgrade charge for moving to another section. They charged us one prices earlier this year and are now trying to charge us more than double that.

wow sounds like you're just having bad luck
Im not a season ticket holder per say but i do attend around 5 or so games a year at least. i would recommend just trying a different ticket agent. i understand your frustration at going through so many people, I’ve had the same issue with people leaving the organization and starting over with someone else a few times myself. When I wasnt happy with my agent i just started going through someone else, be it an outsider ticket vendor or just another agent. right now my ticket agent is scott and he’s been awesome thus far. I’ve actually had him tell me about exchanging tickets if i can’t make it, i think you might just have a crappy agent. my advice is just to call the stars and start going through someone else.
by the way worst e-news ever...
If you email me your contact information
I’ll pass along what you wrote here along with your info to some people I know in the organization to see if we can get you some resolution.
I’ve never had trouble with any of the reps I’ve had over the years, and they have some fantastic people working there. With all of the changes to the organization, I realize there are some growing pains, but they’ve put a lot of new people in places of authority that truly care about the customer.
Hey Taylor, Thank You For Your Response
I actually called my agent again today and we talked about it for awhile and he was able to provide me with more information and explanation than he was yesterday. We worked it out and I feel good about it going forward. They usually do try to make better once something happens, It was just hard for me to understand that Ive been doing something one way for about 5 years and then all of a sudden all those people were doing it the wrong way. I also understand that its been hard on them with the bankruptcy/sale of the team, as well as the team missing the playoffs the last few years, so I really wasnt trying to force them into doing something wrong if the rule states something, I was just wondering if other people were experiencing the same thing. The overall cause of the problem wasnt so much the account reps, which have always been great people, it was kind of a snowball effect of having 5 or 6 of them in a year and a half time. You also have to factor in that time when you are trying to get a hold of your rep and about 2 weeks later their phone finally forwards to somebody else and you find out they are no longer with the team.
My original rep got promoted
And I’ve shuffled around some but I haven’t tried to exchange any games. I guess new ownership is moving people around.
I’ve had the same rep for 4 years now
and he’s still his amazing, accommodating self. I don’t know that we’ve ever hit the 5 game mark on exchanges, but the couple sitting next to us might have. I’ll check with them on Saturday and respond back.
They have been cleaning house in the Sales dept
I think they have let go of about 11 reps, including some higher level people and there is still some upheaval in the dept. My rep said that he still wasn’t sure whether he would rep the same people going forward. My guess is that this will all get sorted out in Feb because they send out the season ticket holder info by March.
Another Season Ticket Holder feeling the stick against his pucks
I agree with the original writer DTCBob, I have been a season ticket holder for 4 years and this is by far the worst for customer service. I am on my third ticket rep and have never been allowed to get more than 5 exchanges. The worst thing in my mind is how the Stars bent us over this year by lowering the prices mid season by which killing the value of my ticket investment. Their response – the opportunity for my to get 16 extra upper level tickets to games I already own, most of which are on Tuesday or Thursday nights when I often have trouble finding people to go with me as it is. They excluded the weekend games or teams that are at the top of the league. This Stars fan is pretty pissed – it is clearly better to NOT buy season tickets and just wait for the half price sales and buy the games you really want.
Where do you sit?
They lowered the cost for the general public for our seats in 312, but we’re still paying well below what it is now per seat.

I Actually Voiced This Today
while I was talking with my agent again and a customer service rep. A few years ago when they lowered season seat holder ticket price, my section was one of only 4 in the stadium that didnt get lowered because they moved it to the higher price level. Then our tickets used to be worth $60 face value last year, and they lowered them to $45 face value this year even before the lower ticket prices. It was actually a better deal last year to just buy the games you wanted to go to with all the buy one get one free specials they were doing. The reps couldnt go into it much as far as specifics, but they said their is major plans to make it benificial to be a season ticket holder again. When they say that I trust it now with the new owner and that fact that they will have a set budget for that stuff. Financially, I can see how it might be difficult for them to do something more than the free tickets you described right now, but we will see in a few months. I just wish they would give us some kinda notice or update on what they are thinking. Maybe even an online vote or something. I like it a few years back when we got food/beverage cards.
Value of Turn Backs
I never saw the value of turnbacks. I already have tickets to every game, so what am I exchanging them for? And yes 14 additional tickets is really useless. I much prefered the seat upgrades as done in the previous years. I couldn’t tell you who my actual rep is, but the Stars customer service team for season ticket holders has been very responsive.
I'm sure all of this will be better next season.
He’s in the middle of moving people around and getting the personnel he wants in there right now. He’ll work it all out during the offseason.
Sorry a little late on this
I have been a STH the last 7 years. The exchange policy in the ST books says nothing about a game limit, but does put restrictions on the time period you can exchange. Current month games can only be exchange for games within that month, or the following. I was extremely upset with the lowered prices in my section, my ST price is now only $4 lower than face value, basically destroying any STH value I had. Compounded with fact that it is impossible for me to make every game, my effective price paid per game I attend is now well above face value. And their response? Here are 16 free tickets in seats that are worse than your current location? Huh? Why bother being a season ticket holder? I would be better off just paying face value for 10 games a season and saving myself a ton of money. The STH perks have also basically vanished. Yes, I am pretty bitter and feel they are alienating an already dwindled STH base. However, I have confidence in Jim Lites and am giving them the chance to do right by the STH. I want to see what they come up with. But if they don’t step up in a big way, I will drop the ST in a heartbeat and just buy individual games.
Waiting for the day GM Joe has a real budget
